Memories of not being able to count on ‘people’. Distrust. Unmet expectations.
Memories and guilt for leaving our home situation and leaving our youngest brother in that situation. His later years, the abuse and trauma he suffered came to light and I wished I could have done more to help him.
Letting go. Surrendering those old stories and laying them to rest, by allowing the space to release the feelings I didn’t feel at the time.
A softening is occurring. A melting of the heart.
